Happy National Farmers Day! 🌱

From tending the land to caring for livestock, farming takes hard work, patience and dedication. Today, we celebrate the people behind that work and the food we all depend on.

Here in Michigan, we’re proud of our farming and agricultural partners who help bring nutritious food to families facing hunger. These partnerships give us much to celebrate.

To farmers everywhere, thank you for all you do! đź’š

Behind every harvest are people whose hard work helps feed Michigan.

As National Farmers Day approaches, we’re celebrating the farmers who partner with the Food Bank Council of Michigan through the Michigan Agricultural Surplus System (MASS).

With funding from the State of Michigan, MASS creates an additional market for their products and helps food banks bring nutritious, Michigan-grown food to families facing hunger.

We’re grateful for the work they do and proud of what we accomplish together.

MASS: A win for farmers, families and food banks.

Forgotten Harvest is giving Metro Detroit plenty of ways to make a difference this Hunger Action Month, from donating and volunteering to advocating, sharing resources and even checking in on a neighbor.

They’ve put together 30 Days of Action to show that big or small, every effort adds up. And right now, donations can go even further with a matching gift from the Thomas and Carol Cracchiolo Foundation.

We’ll continue highlighting opportunities to get involved across Michigan throughout September, so follow along and find a way to play your part.

🧡 September is Hunger Action Month! 🧡

All month long, we're taking action against hunger, and we're inviting Metro Detroit to join us.
Donate. Volunteer. Advocate. Share a resource. Waste a little less food. Check on a neighbor. Wear orange. Learn something new. Ask for help when you need it. VERY BIT HELPS.

Big actions matter. Small actions matter. They all add up.

Throughout September, we'll be sharing stories, resources, behind-the-scenes looks at food rescue, ways to stretch your grocery budget, opportunities to get involved, a few things just for fun.

Here are 30 Days of Action you can take right along with us 👉https://www.forgottenharvest.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Hunger-Action-Month-Calendar-2026.pdf
