The Mesquite Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to our dedicated Police Volunteers! Everyday they assist officers and residents through a wide variety of important duties, including:

VIN Inspections
Handicap Parking Enforcement
Vacation Checks
Speed Radar Trailer Deployments
Service of Subpoenas
Traffic Control at Minor and Major Traffic Accidents

In addition to all of that, our volunteers are a vital part of many community events throughout the year. Their presence and assistance help ensure these events are safe, organized, and successful. Some of the events they support include:

Balloon Festivals Car Shows
Art Walks Parades
Food collection & distribution at local pantries
Toy Drives
Sporting Events
Battle of the Border Rodeo

Their dedication reflects the true spirit of community partnership and public service. We are proud to recognize these outstanding volunteers and thank them for the tremendous support they provide to our department and the citizens we serve.

Memorial Day 2026 is a day that commemorates all men and women who have died while serving in the military for the United States of America. Our past Mayor, Allan Litman will conduct the service at Veterans Memorial Park.

The City Hall Offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day.

ROAD CLOSURE - HAFEN LANE - May 26th to June 24th

With the completion of the new Leavitt Lane from Falcon Ridge Parkway to Hafen Lane, the City of Mesquite will be closing a portion of Hafen Lane to complete roadway improvements on Hafen Lane.

Please see the attached exhibit showing the closure area. Detour signage will route all traffic to Riverside Road, Mesquite Boulevard or the new Leavitt Lane roadway. The Hafen Lane closure will begin on May 26 th and continue until June 24 th . The City of Mesquite appreciates your patience during this construction activity.
