We recently announced the extension of the Town Branch Trail, thanks to a $3.7 million federal Transportation Alternatives Program grant. The trail already enhances our quality of life, provides safe, accessible transportation for pedestrians and bicyclists, and creates a connector for neighborhoods, people, and parks. Upon completion of this extension, residents will be able to enjoy a combined 22 miles of uninterrupted shared-use paths connecting Town Branch Trail, Town Branch Commons, and the Legacy Trail.

Our new Lexington Senior and Therapeutic Recreation Center is coming along nicely! I had an opportunity to take a tour with Kristy Stambuagh, our Director of Aging and Disability Services, to get an update on how construction is going. This newest addition of resources for our seniors is going to offer so much. From areas for passive recreation, exercise, classrooms, art studios and more, this facility is going to be an amazing place for our seniors to come together, learn, be active, and spend time with one another. Stay tuned for the announcement of its opening and more information about this new facility!
