Dear Southeast Antelope Valley Friends and Neighbors: We wanted bring your attention to very important meeting which will be held on the 13th of May at 6:00pm.

*****This project is about safety. The proposed improvements at Highway 138 and 106th Street East are being developed to address a documented history of collisions and to improve traffic operations along a heavily traveled corridor. The preferred option includes a hybrid two-lane roundabout, a restricted crossing U-turn at Hempel Avenue, and other added safety features designed to reduce dangerous conflict points and improve driver awareness. After years of hard work and advocacy, this is a positive opportunity for our community to support a solution focused on saving lives and making Highway 138 safer for everyone. We also encourage residents to attend the virtual public workshop on May 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM by registering on the project website.

Hundreds Enjoy Littlerock Christmas Parade

By Azucena Guerrero-Amaya

Pearblossom Elementary Student

LITTLEROCK -- More than 600 people lined the streets of Littlerock Saturday, Dec,13 to enjoy the fifth annual Christmas parade put on by the Littlerock Town Council.

U.S. Rep. George Whitesides was grand marshal of the event.

"It was great to meet so many community members at the Littlerock Christmas Parade this weekend!" he said, after driving by in a vintage Chevrolet convertible. "Events like this are such an important way for folks to come together and celebrate the holiday season. Thanks to everyone who took the time to say hello -- it's an honor to represent you all in Washington."

Assembly Member Juan Carrillo joined him.

"I had such a great time at the Littlerock Christmas Parade, seeing the kids smile, wave, and cheer as we passed by," he said. "Bringing families together and celebrating with our community is what this season is all about."

A number of local students joined the crowd. Pearblossom Elementary student Barbara "Nikhol" Vasquez, 13, enjoyed the superhero theme of the parade.

"I thought the parade was entertaining," she said. "I saw a lot of superheroes that I liked."

Others enjoyed the folklorico dancers.

Littlerock High School performed two breathtaking dances, and their teacher announced that they now had an official dance class at the school. Antelope Elementary also had the traditional dancers.

The Alpine Elementary School PTO announced from their entry they are posting new fundraisers for school repairs and yearend activities for the students doing online studies due to an electrical fire.

Towards the end of the parade, Stitch, dressed in a Santa outfit, jumped out of a truck to hug people. The final entry carried Santa Claus, pulled in a sleigh, waving to everyone.

There were 24 entries and 120 individuals participating in the parade, according to parade spokesperson Mary Jeters. First place went to the Pearblossom Queens Pageant, with second going to Antelope Elementary, and third to Littlerock Community Church. After the parade, hundreds gathered at the Alpine Grange Hall, as food was served by 25 vendors.
