Homefull Project Los Angeles

Our partners at Feeding San Diego coordinate weekly food rescue at Specialty Produce and Vons every Monday, and our incredible volunteers bring those rescued ingredients to our San Diego Connections site to prepare meals and host a weekly food distribution for our interim community. 💙

This week alone, more than 1,000 pounds of food were saved from going to landfill and transformed into nourishment, stability, and care for our residents. This is what community collaboration looks like.

we’re collecting signatures to qualify a new measure for the November 2024 ballot. Here’s a bit about it:
✅ The measure will repeal and replace the 1/4 cent sales tax currently funding Measure H with a 1/2 cent sales tax for all LA County residents
✅ This is the FIRST EVER guaranteed local revenue stream exclusively for housing production and preservation in the County
✅ It’ll help stabilize our homeless services system with guaranteed long-term funding, mandating that at least $2B over the next decade will go towards the production of new housing built by high quality union construction jobs

Yesterday we celebrated the inaugural L.A. County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (LACAHSA) board meeting. Advocates, partners, policymakers and community members showed up and showed out. 🎉📣

We kick started turning plans into action. The time is now, and we can’t wait to make Los Angeles a more affordable place to live!❤️🏠

Thanks to Senator Sydney Kamlager for the legislation that created LACAHSA and thanks to the 20 board members who’re dedicated to seeing this through.
