There is a clear need for a dedicated, single platform public safety communication system in Los Angeles county. The threats facing the region, both man-made and natural, as well as the requirement for day to day routine communication amongst agencies represent the true justification for LA-RICS. Our network is designed to handle both the extreme and the day to day needs of our region’s First Resp

Its National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and LA-RICS personnel befittingly attended LASD’s Dispatcher of the Year ceremony at the Sheriff’s Communication Center. We appreciate all the hard work dispatchers do! 🎧🚨📻

LA-RICS thanks the state of CA, and Assemblyman Tom Lackey w/ Senator Maria Elena Durazo, for providing $18.6 million to our project. Your support will help us complete a radio system that will cover 4,000+sq miles w/58 sites. We are currently in testing/optimization!

Two LA-RICS radio testers testing radios. And once again, everything works beautifully, meaning we are one step closer to going live! But with so many successful tests under our belt, is that even a surprise at this point?

It takes a little extra planning and a little extra effort, but we do what we can to keep California air easy to breathe. Clean radio waves with clean solar power. It ain’t easy, but we love being green.

It’s a new year. Our resolutions? To keep doing what we’ve always done: 1) Work hard; 2) Be kind; 3) Build a reliable, interoperable public safety radio network for all of LA County; 4) Look cool doing it.

To Pasadena PD, LASD, CHP, and the other agencies that helped keep the 2022 Rose Parade safe… Thank you. We’re so glad you agreed to help us test our system during this event. We’re looking forward to next year!

Super nope. We’ll stick to creating the safest, most reliable interoperable radio system for multi-agency first responders. This? This is just bananas.

The old radio tower, still functioning, is on the right. The new radio tower, belonging to LA-RICS, is on the left. We’re building bigger. We’re building better.

But anyway, here are some baby skunks fed by a local near one of our radio towers. You’re welcome.

We built a radio tower near an old missile silo. Because how cool is that? Also, because it was the best vantage point for promoting interoperable frequencies. But missile silo!
