We marked another important step toward making our streets safer and more accessible.

For many members of our Jewish community, especially those observing Shabbat, safe and reliable street crossings are essential. That’s why the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and Mansfield Avenue will soon receive permanent crossing signals, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and new painted crosswalks. The signals will automatically cycle, helping make this intersection more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Street safety is a quality-of-life and public-safety issue. That’s why the budget I signed this week increases investment in safer streets with more street improvements and more City crews to deliver these improvements.

These are the kinds of investments that make neighborhoods and families safer, more connected, and we will continue bringing them to communities across Los Angeles.

Some stories can only be told in Los Angeles.

Our City brings personality, culture, and authenticity that can’t be replicated anywhere else. Combined with the best crews, talent, and creative professionals in the world, it’s no surprise that creators continue to choose L.A. I will keep working urgently to remove barriers and support the industry that helps power our economy.

As a former Physician Assistant working in emergency rooms, I saw firsthand the many ways people can end up on the streets and the hardships that come with it.

Bringing people inside is the first step toward helping them reclaim their lives.

Luis’ story is a reminder that housing is about more than shelter. It’s about safety, stability, and finally having the chance to think about the future again.

This Jewish American Heritage Month, we celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Jewish Americans who have helped shape Los Angeles and our nation.

Jewish Angelenos have enriched every part of our city, and we remain committed to standing against antisemitism and ensuring Los Angeles is a place where every community can thrive.

The U.S. Women’s Open Championship is coming to Los Angeles and we’re creating opportunities for young Angelenos to be part of the action.

Through “Golf FORE Her”, we are offering free clinics for girls across L.A., helping open doors to a sport that teaches confidence, discipline, and leadership.

For 70 years, Casa Vega has been more than a restaurant – it’s been part of the story of Los Angeles.

Earlier this month, I joined the Vega family, Councilmember Monica Rodriguez, and community members to unveil “Vega Square” and celebrate a business that has helped shape the culture, community, and history of the San Fernando Valley for generations.

Small businesses like Casa Vega are part of what makes Los Angeles special.

Congratulations to the Vega family on 70 incredible years serving Los Angeles.

Since taking office, my focus has been on reversing longstanding trends by reducing homelessness, building more housing, improving public safety, and delivering the basic city services Angelenos rely on. The City budget for Fiscal Year 2026–27 that I signed today builds on that progress and helps us continue moving forward.

The $14.85 billion budget strengthens City finances through increased property, business, sales, and utility tax revenues while improving efficiency and maximizing available resources.
