The LA City Planning Department will hold a public meeting to consider the appeal to the conditional approval given to the proposed private street access to the 5000 Beethoven aka “Bird Island” site, on Wednesday, August 5 at 4:30pm at the Felicia Mahood center at 11338 Santa Monica Blvd. Zoom link is also available. Refer to the agenda at planning.lacity.org. Del Rey stakeholders are encouraged to attend the meeting and give public comment.

The DRNC wishes to notify all Del Rey stakeholders that on July 1, 2026 after 4:30 p.m., the West LA Area Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for an appeal of the Advisory Agency’s Determination for 5000 Beethoven Street, aka “Bird Island”, dated April 24, 2026. This determination under appeal accepted a Mitigated Negative Declaration from September 9, 1998 and approved a Private Street to provide legal frontage and street access to 5000 Beethoven in conjunction with the construction of a new private access bridge over Centinela Creek. The hearing will be held at the Felicia Mahood Multipurpose Center,11338 West Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90025. We’re also giving away free mulch, free food, and will have a resource fair. There will also live music from the Del Rey Jazz Band! Arrive early to get the best tree selection.
