Rose Bowl Aquatics Center’s programs bring residents together, invest in their wellness, and ensure access for all. Whether they’re hosting swim lessons, water polo practice, recreational swim, or the Olympics, the center has always been a place that fosters unity and camaraderie. I’m grateful for all they do year round to give our residents opportunities to learn, play, and thrive.

The challenges the County of Los Angeles faces regarding housing production and economic stability are real, but they’re not insurmountable. Thank you to the Pepperdine School of Public Policy for inviting me to have a candid conversation about the efforts underway to ensure our residents have access to attainable, stable housing and good-paying jobs close to home. Growth and opportunity require leadership, collaboration, and adaptability, and I’m hopeful that we’re on the right path.

The Eaton Fire had a devastating impact on many Altadena residents, including those whose homes are still standing. Survivors have been battling with their insurers to get the payouts they’re owed to remediate smoke damage that makes their homes unlivable. Today, I stood with survivors to affirm that we will hold insurers accountable to the state law that sets standards for testing and remediating. To survivors— document everything, talk with an attorney or trusted resource, and be aware that the deadline to take your insurer to court is Jan. 7, 2027. We stand with you and will not let your stories be ignored.

I'm actively monitoring developments as the continues to burn & remain in close contact with our emergency response partners. I deeply appreciate the brave firefighters & all first responders working this incident in extremely hot & difficult conditions. I commend and value their courage, professionalism & commitment to protecting our communities.

The vision for Charles White Park’s rebuild is quintessentially Altadena—rooted in art, culture, connection, and legacy. It’s rare for a public space to be named after an artist, so as a community that’s home to so many artists and arts organizations, we’re reminded of how much creativity enriches and unites us. I’m excited to see the vision for this park come to life!
