Behind the historic movement to phase out urban oil drilling in Los Angeles is years of dedicated community organizing by Liberty Hill community partners at STAND-LA. By uniting frontline residents and donor activists, they’ve brought a citywide ordinance—which ends new oil extraction and phases out existing wells within 20 years—to its final hurdle. The ordinance is now just one vote away from passage by the LA City Council. It is time to deliver the long-overdue health and safety protections our communities deserve. Help us push this over the finish line. Follow link in comments for more.
