An innocent Martin DCPA4 sitting in a guitar rack was attacked by a small bass combo amp that leapt off a shelf, completely unprovoked. Swipe over for the before and after. Glued and clamped all the various cracks in stages, finishing with the back and binding. I then cleated the inside, dabbed a small amount of cyanoacrylate onto a cable mount that had come loose from the underside of the top over time, broke out the dremel to cut some string ramps in the bridge, and set it up with some Ernie Ball 2556 Everlast coated acoustic strings.

Fender 2x10 + 1x18 BXR cab had a bad crossover and shorted pair of 10’s. Tossed the crossover, put in some new cheap & cheerful 10” woofers, and re-wired the output jacks for a bi-amp or mono setup.

1999 Fender Mexican Standard Stratocaster got a new pickguard, trem backplate, and a setup with 10-46 Regular Slinky Strings.

Partscaster needed help. Probably the worst Chinese neck I’ve seen. 💩 I’m guessing a $30-40 Amazon or eBay jobber? The frets were un-even, some weren’t even pressed into the fretboard all the way, inconsistent finishing (some spots were finished in a light satin and other spots were still unfinished wood), and a 2-way truss rod that was difficult to adjust. Fret dress, nut work, and setup with 10-46 Regular Slinky strings. Electronics need to be gone over too but I’ll leave that to the owner.

Thomas Organ Vox Berkeley II got a new grounded power cable, cut the “death cap” out, re-wired the complimentary outlet, line reverse and fuse caddy to modern safety standards, cleaned out all the cobwebs and dead spiders inside the cabinet and chassis, and away it goes.

Star Instruments Synare 3 needed cleaning and a replacement volume pot. Not one of my usual but it was odd enough I found it hard to resist.

1999 Reverend Rumblefish bass arrived with its neck covered in finger cheese, a tone potentiometer with its shaft sheared clean off, and deadddd strings. Gave it a deep clean, chucked up each pickguard screw and hit them with a brass brush to remove rust, leveled the fretboard at the body-to-neck junction to resolve high spots, soldered in a replacement 500k potentiometer, new chrome dome k**b, and set it up with Hybrid Slinky 105-45 bass strings.

Ibanez RG220 got a pair of SH4 JB humbuckers, new output jack, nut work, and setup in Drop C with 2626 Not Even Slinky 12-56 strings. I also doweled and re-drilled the pickup rings, one of the output jack surround screw holes, and cleaned up the wiring inside the control cavity.

Fender ‘72 Thinline Telecaster reissue got some new black staggered locking Fender tuners. Plugged the string tree hole as it’s no longer needed. Re-str IIng with fresh EXL110 10-46 strings.
