On March 2nd, Larchmont Selma held their 4th Annual Grade 8 Poetry Beat!
Ms. Garaway’s ELA students got to create an environment of vulnerability, support, mutual respect. More than 30 students stood on the auditorium steps to share out original poems.
Classmates were quiet and receptive, exuding the utmost appreciation for one another. The only regret was time running out and the amount of kids who still wanted to share! Ms. G was beaming with pride — the baller Bare Books are proof of a beloved Poetry unit.
SHOUT OUTS: Alex Browning for setting up the audio, Ms. DJ for taking photos, Mr. Keith for dimming the lights, Selma staff members who showed up to listen, and the Grade 8 Team for all their slow snaps. Let’s gooooo!!!

The Living Wax Museum at Selma/LCUE is a real treat! In honor of Black History Month, students in grades 4-8 showcase their fave history makers. Just press the button and watch the characters come alive! The wax museum continues Thursday + Fri morning, 8:20 - 9am.
