We celebrated Earth Day this year by planting a mini food forest- avocados!
Thanks for the great collaboration En-Gage Riverside, Casa Blanca Home of Neighborly Service, Target, Greenbelt Growers Nursery Inc
Happy Earth Day Everyone! Community engagement was on point with this fruit tree planting at Casa Blanca Home of Neighborly Service. Located in Riverside, the center provides education, recreation, and spiritual support for people of all ages. Tree planting day saw a wide range of community members come together. The volunteers from Target made quick work of the event, planting 20 Avocado trees for the community to enjoy and added a valuable resource for local food security.
A special thank you to everyone involved:
- the volunteers at Targetand their generous donation
- CURE, Inc. and En-Gage Riverside for coordinating the event
- Greenbelt Growers Nursery Inc for providing the trees and installation support
- The volunteers at Casa Blanca Home of Neighborly Service for being an integral part of their community
- Council member Shawn Mill for putting community first
