The Happy Birthday Circle Our mission is to create a safe, fun place in the heart of Louisville while educating the public on and honoring the legacy of the Hill sisters.

The Happy Birthday Park will provide a cultural, artistic, and economic icon for Louisville, celebrating the spirit of innovation and excellence that defines our city, as is embodied in the lifework of Mildred J. Hill and Patty Smith Hill and their enduring demonstration of the community value of play and the potential that lies within very child. Creating this family-friendly space will educate the public, encourage creativity, and foster neighborhood growth. The park will be located on the southeast corner of 4th Street and Chestnut.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Marsha Weinstein! Marsha is a historian and activist who has spent decades highlighting the role of women in Kentucky history. As founding director of the Happy Birthday Park Board, she’s helped ensure that Louisville’s own Patty and Mildred Hill — the sisters behind “Happy Birthday to You” — are remembered and honored. We’re grateful for all Marsha has done for the women of Kentucky. Please join us in wishing her a very Happy Birthday!
