Waverly Hills turns 100!

Right in the heart of District 12, we have one of Louisville’s biggest draws for tourists and visitors. People plan trips from all across the country to see a place that’s just up the road from so many of us. That’s pretty special, and something for our Southwest Louisville community to be proud of.

As we mark this anniversary, I’m thankful for those helping preserve the building and the stories it has given to so many of us.

Southwest Louisville Proud.

I need your help! We are still looking for more neighbors interested in hosting a community microchip scanning station on their property!

Nearly six weeks ago, I shared our plans to bring 10 community microchip scanning stations to District 12. So far, my list includes interested neighbors on Lewiston Drive, Marie Anna Drive, Grannel Road, Arvis Drive, and Maryview Drive. Thank you to those who have reached out!

Think of these stations like a Little Free Library for lost pets. If you find a wandering dog or cat, you would have a nearby place to check for a microchip and hopefully help connect them with their family.

We are looking for neighbors willing to host a station in their yard, keep an eye on it, and charge the scanner about once a month. We want to spread them throughout District 12 so more neighborhoods have one close by.

HOAs and Neighborhood Associations, this could be a great fit for your neighborhood, too! Having a designated home or spot that neighbors know about would give everyone a place to start when a lost pet turns up. Consider sharing this with your board or asking whether a neighbor would be willing to host.

Anyone who has searched for a missing pet knows how much it means to have neighbors helping you look. This is one more way we can be there for one another - and hopefully get a few more pets home without a trip to the shelter.

Interested in hosting one in District 12? Comment below or send me a message with your street or neighborhood!

Rough Cut Jeep Club - once again, you all knocked it out of the park!

Thank you for asking us to set up at tonight’s Trunk or Treat! We had a great time visiting with so many neighbors and seeing all the kids (and many parents) in their costumes.

So much work goes into evenings like this. To everyone who organized, volunteered, decorated their trunk or Jeep, or brought candy - thank you for giving our Southwest Louisville families such a fun night together!

Get those costumes ready! The Great Trunk or Treat is coming to Sun Valley Park tonight from 5–8 PM. Bring the family out for an evening of candy, decorated Jeeps, and Halloween fun right here in Southwest Louisville. Everyone is welcome, and you do not need a Jeep to participate!

Admission is one new, unopened toy or package of Play-Doh per family. Play-Doh donations will support St. Jude through Averitt’s collection, and toys will support another Rough Cut Jeep Club community outreach project.
