Imagine passing down knowledge. This knowledge has been developed over 46 years of managing budgets and working with numerous partners and clients.
My hope is that I can pass on this knowledge to as many young adults and couples as I can in Larimer County to help them start on a good solid path towards financial independence.

Previously I spent my time sorting the boots and coats into sizes and genders. I had the privilege of actually dropping some of those off at four schools.
It’s amazing. They’re so appreciative of the boots and coats. Several hundred coats and boots were distributed by me alone, and others were out there delivering to the other schools as well.
It’s such a great program!

I’m a member of the North Fort Collins Business Association. Our Coats and Boots program, working with Scheels and Jax, buys coats and boots for kids most impacted by poverty. We help children at the Poudre Valley Elementary Schools stay warm through the winter.
Proud to be part of this effort in our community.

I know how hard you work to earn a paycheck, maybe it’s missing special moments with your family or meals with them. That’s time you cannot get back.
I will not take the responsibility of county treasurer lightly, nor would I need on-the-job training. I have over 46 years of experience and will continue to build upon what’s been set before.

On the Kim Monson show, she asked me if investment income could offset taxes for the people of Larimer County.
Absolutely. You don’t want to just put your money in a coffee can or bury it in the mattress. You want to put that money to work for the county. It’s a way of offsetting some of the tax that might otherwise have to be collected. You invest it safely, with as good a return as possible, and those additional funds help keep the burden lower for taxpayers.
That’s the kind of stewardship I want to bring to the Treasurer’s office.

Saturday morning I attended the veterans’ breakfast out at the Golden Corral.
It was a great opportunity to meet many of the vets, encourage them to vote if they hadn’t already, and hear what’s on their minds. I got a lot of encouragement from the positive support they gave me while I was there.
Grateful for the chance to be with them.

Attended the Turning Point CSU chapter meeting. They had a very knowledgeable speaker on perverse features in the health care system including impact of profit vs nonprofits; insurance including Medicare and Medicaid, vs paying for primary care and much much more.
Listened in the a robust discussion on the death penalty. Impressive!
