Food Bank for Larimer County We provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger relief programs. This institution is an equal opportunity provider

The Food Bank for Larimer County's mission is to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs. In 2020, the Food Bank for Larimer County provided more than 10.5 million pounds of food to low-income residents through three primary programs: Fresh Food Share, Nutritious Kitchen, and Nourishing Network. Our Fresh Food Share pantries are client-choice, meaning clients get to select the food that is right for them and their families. With locations in Fort Collins and Loveland, each pantry offers a selection of purchased, donated, and government food to income qualifying individuals. In an average year, our pantries will see an average of 200,000 client visits. The Nutritious Kitchen prepares an average of 175,000 nutritious meals and snacks annually for children and seniors in our community, while our Nourishing Network works with more than 100 nonprofit partner agencies to provide food to the clients they serve. These organizations include food pantries, soup kitchens, after-school programs, and domestic violence shelters among others. An estimated 37,500 Larimer County residents receive assistance from the Food Bank each year.

In her latest CEO note, Amy Pezzani shared her experience facing food insecurity in college. Today, she helps to oversee Food Bank partnerships to end hunger on campus.

"When I started college as a first-generation college student in Missouri, nobody talked about hunger on college campuses. It may as well have not existed ... I did not have any knowledge of human or social services, but I learned about food stamps (now SNAP) in a class and wondered if I would qualify. Turns out that I did and the benefits I received were a complete game changer for me during a time when I desperately needed the support."

It may have been a cold and rainy day, but no spirits were dampened at C.A.N.S Around the Oval at Colorado State University !☂️💚🥫

This year marked 40 years of this student-led food and fund drive. We are so grateful for every school who participated, every volunteer who braved the soggy weather, and for our amazing partners at Colorado State University. Each can collected here today, every dollar raised will help more food reach more people in our community, including people on campus through our partners Rams Against Hunger.

C.A.N.S(Cash And Nutritious Staples) is an annual food drive hosted by Colorado State University where students, faculty and staff engage in a friendly competition of raising food and funds for those facing food insecurity, directly benefiting Food Bank for Larimer County and Rams Against Hunger, CSU's on-campus food pantry.

On October 14th, everyone comes together to help line The Oval at CSU with canned food as final numbers are tallied. Last year, Over 21,000 pounds of food was donated, and enough money to supply over 120,000 meals in Larimer County was raised!
