***LIFE SENTENCE***
Oftentimes, when we share news of an arrest or the prosecution of a criminal, we might add a little humor or even a touch of snark to our presentation. After all, there are moments when justice deserves to be celebrated.
Today, however, is different.
Today, we want to share this news for another reason: to recognize and commend the investigators whose tireless work helped make this outcome possible.
Jesus Aguilar, 39, pictured below, was sentenced to life in prison last week after being convicted of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
A sentence of this magnitude does not happen by chance. It is the result of countless hours of investigative work, dedication, persistence, and an unwavering commitment to seeking justice. The detectives of the Lubbock Crimes Against Children Unit played a critical role in bringing this case to this point.
Their work represents more than an investigation. It represents a commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community, pursuing accountability, and ensuring these cases receive the attention and determination they demand.
We are incredibly grateful for these detectives and the work they do, often behind the scenes and far from the public eye. Their dedication matters, their efforts make a difference, and our community is safer because of their commitment.
Please join us in recognizing and thanking the detectives of the Lubbock Crimes Against Children Unit for their perseverance, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to this department and our community!
Thank you for the work you do and for never losing sight of why it matters!
