Please join us in congratulating our very own Kaitlyn Hammil on earning her Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University! 🎓

Kaitlyn also recently completed an intensive four-day training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, expanding her knowledge of attachment science and helping couples build stronger, more secure relationships.

Kaitlyn serves as our Digital Program Coordinator and leads our Parenting Guidance Center. We couldn't do what we do without her!! Her passion for supporting children, individuals, and families is evident in everything she does. Congratulations, Kaitlyn! We're lucky to have you on the FGO team! ☀

📚 Help us build our Book Buddies library during Amazon Prime Days!

Think of Book Buddies as Lunch Buddies for our younger kids! 💛 We use children’s books, activities, and play to help little ones practice friendship, kindness, confidence, communication, and handling big feelings.

We’ve created an Amazon Wishlist with the books we’ll use in the program, and Prime Days are a great time to help us stock our shelves! 📖 Pick a book from our wishlist and have it shipped directly to FGO. We’ll use these books again and again with kids in our community!

🎃 We had some spooky fun at First Friday Storytime at the City of Wolfforth Library 👻

We read The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything, and Room on the Broom! Then we kept the Halloween fun going by coloring pumpkins and witch hats, creating silly-scary faces with stickers, going on a Monster Hunt, and getting all our wiggles out with Halloween Freeze Dance! 🧙‍♀️🕸️🐰

There were lots of stories, laughs, movement, and creativity… exactly how we like it! We can’t wait to see our storytime buddies again in November! 🍁

Here was the setup before our First Friday Storytime at the City of Wolfforth Library!📚 With it being the start of Labor Day weekend, we had a very tiny (but mighty) group! One of our little friends was 2 years old and could speak 3 languages!!! 🤯

We’re honored to share that our Executive Director Abby Reed was recently selected to receive the Q2 Community Award from Tyler Technologies in Lubbock.

Abby was nominated by Mark Cavazos, Secretary of FGO’s Board of Directors. In his nomination, Mark wrote:

“Under her leadership, Family Guidance & Outreach has expanded its impact through free online parenting classes, shaken baby syndrome prevention training, school-based programs, and support services for teen parents. Recognized as a leading voice in child abuse prevention, Abby is frequently sought out for her expertise and has helped countless families access the tools, education, and resources they need to thrive”

This recognition means a great deal, particularly because it came through a nomination from someone who has served alongside FGO and believes so strongly in our mission.
