LHS AP Government students had the opportunity to sit down and have a conversation with three members of state government in a Town Hall type meeting. State Senator John Cronin, State Representatives Mike Kushmarick and Margaret Scarsdale were at LHS today to present a check for Lunenburg Public Schools in the amount of 175,000 dollars for facility upgrades throughout the school district. Dr. Fortuna along with School Committee members Laura Brzozoski and Mandy Gilman were able to join in the conversation. Great Job LHS!

Our records indicate that there are several remaining balances for bus fees that are unpaid. Please submit payment by November 1, 2026. If the fee remains unpaid, your child will no longer receive bus transportation beginning November 4th for the remainder of this school year or until the fee is paid.

We know that losing transportation would be difficult for families, and we want to help you resolve any payment or eligibility questions before that happens.

There are two ways to pay:

Online: Pay through Revtrak: https://lunenburg.revtrak.net/r2 #/v/bus-fees

Pay By Check: Make your check payable to Town of Lunenburg and send it to the Superintendent’s Office, 129 Northfield Road, Lunenburg, MA 01462. Please write “bus fee” in the memo line.

If you need assistance with the fee:

If you believe your family may qualify for a free or reduced bus fee, please complete the Alternative Income Form (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rW_VI57Xl4rlk-8wg5UEcaGcQBYK7l4u/view) and the Sharing Information Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdTxKec2laONtmtMaIzhjZRKYhwQsFgNuY81SwGugLiRnIhng/viewform). On the Sharing Information Form, please check the third box for Transportation Fees. Both forms, including your permission to share eligibility information, are needed for us to review your eligibility.

If you need help with the forms or have questions about your balance, please reach out to Maria Williams at [email protected] or Liz Petersen at [email protected] before the payment deadline.

If you have already paid or your child is no longer riding the bus, please let Maria or Liz know so we can update our records.

Thank you for taking care of this. If you need assistance, please reach out so we can work through your questions together.

In Partnership,
Jodi L. Fortuna Ed.D
Superintendent Lunenburg Public Schools

THES Coin Wars Monday 10/19/26 through Friday 10/23/26

Coin Wars starts on Monday! - Each day the grade with the highest number of points will earn a prize/privilege.

Coin Wars is a friendly competition between Grades. The objective is to get as many points as possible during the "war" which lasts from Monday, October 19th through Friday, October 23.

* Monday: Wear your favorite hat day for the grade with the highest points.
* Reverse Tuesday: Popsicle prizes for the grade with highest total (keep silver in your own bucket!)
* Wednesday: extra recess for grade with highest points.
* Thursday: Wear your PJs day for grade with the highest points.
* Reverse Friday: Outdoor lunch and extended recess prize for grade with highest total (keep silver in your own bucket!)

We will send email reminders throughout the week!
How it works:

---Each grade level will have a large container.
---Students from class put their pennies in their grade’s container. One point is received for every penny in the container.
---Now, here’s where it gets fun….students may put silver coins and paper currency into the containers of OTHER grades. Each silver coin or bill reduces the number of points from that container by the amount of the coin. (e.x. a nickel reduces the points by five, a dime by ten, a dollar by 100, etc...) This is where strategy counts.
---Containers are emptied and counted daily. The total monetary amount of silver coins and paper currency is deducted from the total number of pennies for the day.

We will also have "REVERSE" days where you want to put silver and bills into your own container because they will result in positive points.

Friendly reminder: paper money and checks are always appreciated! (checks made payable to Lunenburg PTO)

Please find the Sign Up Genius if you would like to volunteer during a lunch or lunches to collect coins from the students. You must have a current cori on file.

Please Keep Gel-Filled Squishy Toys at Home

We need your help keeping our bus rides safe and comfortable. Several gel-filled squishy toys have burst on buses recently, creating significant messes and additional work for our drivers.

There are also safety concerns. Reports of skin irritation and injuries from leaking toys have prompted concern from consumer safety advocates. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises avoiding skin contact with filling from burst toys and warns that toys exposed to heat can cause serious burns.

Please keep squishy toys that contain gel or liquid and can break open at home. Please also remind your child to follow the driver’s directions and put items away when asked.

If your child uses a sensory tool as part of an individual support plan, please contact the school so we can work together to identify an appropriate option for the bus.

Thank you for helping keep our students safe and supporting our bus drivers.
