To our guest speakers Alex Caudill and Colmon Elridge your words were very encouraging. Thank you for making the drive and giving our candidates and party members the boost needed to push through to the election!

To the candidates! It takes a lot to put yourself out there! You all are doing an amazing job! Drew Williams you continue to show up for Hopkins County, that speaks volumes! Hannah Kington-Jarvis you've been thrown several obstacles in a very few short months, and you've handled them with such grace, your exactly what Hopkins County need! Jayna Lynn Russelburg thank you for stepping up because you see a need!

Locally we have the following running magistrate Charles Yarbrough Vicki Dickerson Thomison Charlie Beshears "Your Voice" for Magistrate in the 6th as well as Independent Billy Parrish all of whom have served this county in many ways for many years. They will all be the voices we're seeking as a whole!

For the rest of the city councils in the community please make sure that you're checking out who is running and make sure that you're completely informed! I am Misty Cavanaugh. I was born and raised here in Madisonville. I have lived in Ward 1 for all but a year and a half of my life. I graduated from Madisonville-North Hopkins in 2006 and Madisonville Community College in 2008 before going to the University of Kentucky, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2010. Later, I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Arkansas. After graduating from UK, I came back to Madisonville and started working for McCoy and McCoy Labs in 2011 before they were acquired by a larger network of labs, where I still work today. I have been on city council for 7 years now and have a 6 year old son.

I started out running for city council because I wanted to see a more livable community and it seemed all of my friends were leaving. Now I want to see that community for my son. Over the last few years we have made great strides in making this a more livable community, not only for current residents, but also for those we hope to attract to our growing population. We have seen these changes in retail developments, the sports complex and increased housing. However, there is more work to be done. Having a younger city council member who will live and continue to work here for the foreseeable future is vital to attaining the goals we want to see for ourselves and for the next generation. This is why I am asking for your vote in November.
