I think the people against improving our facilities are right. There isn’t a need or want in this county…

As you can tell by the people at this game. 😉

Sarcasm, if you couldn’t tell.

We need to expect more. We need to demand more. And most importantly, we need to continue investing in opportunities and facilities for our kids, our families and our community.

We can do better, and I believe we should.

There comes a point where you have to stop talking about making things better and start getting involved.

For generations, the people before us have poured countless hours into Marion County. They served on boards, volunteered, coached, built businesses, supported our communities and worked behind the scenes to make sure this was a place worth raising a family.

We’ve benefited from that work our entire lives.

Now it’s our turn.

There is a lot of work being done right now, and there are a lot of opportunities for people to get involved and help shape where Marion County goes from here. We need people from my generation to step up, bring new ideas, give their time and take an active role in our community.

If you’ve ever said, “Somebody needs to do something about that,” maybe it’s time to be that somebody.

If you’re interested in serving on a county board or committee, send an email to Kris Cinalli at [email protected] and let him know what boards or areas you’d be interested in serving on.

We can’t expect the next generation to inherit a great community if we aren’t willing to help build it.

The people before us carried the torch. Now it’s our responsibility to carry it forward.

Heading to my kids’ soccer game this morning around 8 and I came across a tree down in the road with our volunteer firefighters already out there working.

Then I get to the field and see all these kids playing soccer on wet, high grass, just having a good time and doing what kids do.

It got me thinking about the kind of community we want to build.

We have incredible people who volunteer their time, coach our kids, help their neighbors and show up when people need them. We should be doing everything we can to support them and make sure our kids have good places to play, our public spaces are taken care of, and our families have the quality of life they deserve.

It’s easy to talk about what needs fixed. The real challenge is actually doing something about it.

I’m proud to call this place home, and I’m going to keep pushing for us to do more and make things better for the people who live here.

Pretty special to be there today for the grand opening of the new CKB Terminal at North Central West Virginia Airport.

As a member of the airport’s Executive Board, it’s been rewarding to be a small part of this process and see this project finally come together. A lot of work has gone into getting to this point, and this new terminal is a major investment in the future of our region.

But days like today also make me think about Marion County.

We have a great community, great people and a lot to offer, but we can’t afford to sit still while the rest of the region continues to move forward. If we don’t continue investing, growing and finding ways to attract new businesses, jobs and opportunities, we risk falling behind.

I want to see Marion County be a big part of the growth happening in North Central West Virginia. We have everything we need to compete. We just have to be willing to think bigger and keep moving forward.

Proud to be a part of today and excited about what’s possible for our entire region. ✈️

Today was one of the most meaningful days I’ve had as a Marion County Commissioner.

It was an incredible honor to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the dedication of the Marion County Veterans War Memorial a project that, for many years, many believed would never be completed.

When I first took office, Commissioners Ernie VanGilder and Linda Longstreth graciously entrusted me with helping move this project forward. Being the new commissioner, I didn’t fully realize that this memorial had been in the works for more than 15 years and had become what many considered a dead project. But I believed our veterans deserved better, and I was determined to do everything I could to help see it through.

This memorial wasn’t completed because of one person. It became a reality because of teamwork, persistence, and the incredible support of our community. Together, we refused to let this important project remain unfinished.

I was especially honored that U.S. Senator Jim Justice joined us for today’s dedication and shared in recognizing the men and women whose names are forever etched into this memorial. And, of course, Babydog brought plenty of smiles to everyone in attendance. Their presence made an already special day even more memorable.

Today, we fulfilled a promise to the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform. They answered the call to serve our country, and the very least we can do is ensure their service and sacrifice are remembered with the honor and respect they have earned.

I want to sincerely thank Commissioner Ernie VanGilder, Commissioner Linda Longstreth, our veterans, military families, donors, volunteers, contractors, county staff, and everyone who played a role in bringing this memorial to life. This was truly a community effort, and I am proud of what we accomplished together.

As I stood before the memorial today, I couldn’t help but think about how far this project had come. After more than 15 years, something many believed would never happen is now a permanent tribute that will stand for generations.

To every veteran: thank you. Marion County will never forget your courage, your sacrifice, and your service.

May God bless our veterans, may God bless Marion County, and may God continue to bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we owe a debt of gratitude to every veteran and military family who has served our nation.

I am proud to announce that our Veterans Memorial is now complete — a lasting tribute to the heroes from our community who answered the call to serve. This summer, we will officially dedicate the memorial with the public and come together as a community to honor the men and women who sacrificed so much for all of us.

This memorial stands as a reminder that freedom is never free, and that the legacy of our veterans will live on for generations to come.

On this Memorial Day, let us remember the fallen, honor the living, and never forget those who gave everything for our country.

God bless our veterans, our active military, and the United States of America.

I want to congratulate and thanks at Marion County Chamber of Commerce for putting on a successful form for the candidates running for the Board of Education. What a great opportunity for the community and the voters to get to see the people running for offices. Look forward to seeing what you do in the future.

Proud moment for Marion County and the Town of Worthington.

I just received word from the Governor’s Office that Governor Morrisey has selected Marion County for an AMLER grant award — $1,250,000 for sewer upgrades in the Town of Worthington.

From my very first conversation with the Governor and members of his staff, I made one thing clear: Worthington needed help. I repeated it every chance I got.

I was there when Worthington flooded. I saw firsthand what residents were dealing with. I helped deliver supplies, talked with families, and promised them I wouldn’t stop pushing until real relief came.

This investment won’t erase everything the town has endured, but I truly hope it brings long-term relief, stability, and peace of mind to the people of Worthington.

This is what advocacy looks like — showing up, speaking up, and staying on it until something gets done.

More details will be released soon by the Governor’s Office, but today I’m grateful for progress and proud to stand with Worthington.
