In December 2023, it came to light that the Cobb County Clerk of Superior Court was three months behind on indexing Civil and Criminal Cases, sparking outrage among local lawyers. This unprecedented delay has raised concerns about public access to court records and timely notifications for court proceedings. The lack of leadership and staff gutting by the current clerk has left the community in a state of uncertainty, threatening the trust in Cobb County's renowned justice system.

As of today, The Cobb County Superior Court Clerk's Office is currently 69 days behind on Civil Indexing and 83 days behind on Criminal Indexing. This means documents filed after 11/3/23 (Civil) and 10/20/23 (Criminal) are still not available online to the public. This delay not only hinders public access but also raises concerns about the timely notification of court proceedings for citizens and their attorneys, posing a serious threat to our justice system and leaving our community with a deficit of trust in the clerk's office. Imagine the consequences of receiving a default judgment or bench warrant without proper notice.
Having worked as Chief Operating Officer of the Superior Court Clerk, Nick is uniquely qualified to address and resolve the current challenges it faces.
