Early this afternoon Ambulance 59-9 and Rescue 59 were dispatched to assist Eynon/Sturges Hose Co. #3 and Archbald Community Ambulance and Rescue Squad for a technical rescue at the Archbald Pothole State park. Reports were an individual fell into the glacial pothole. Crews worked along with Wilson Fire Co. # 1 Ladder 20 to the remove the victim from the pothole.

At approximately 5am this morning Rescue 59 was dispatched to Area 51 for a working structure fire. Crews operated for roughly 4 hours before being returned to service.

Today members of the Wm. Walker Hose Co along with members from MAYFIELD HOSE COMPANY STATION 59, Whitmore Hose Co. Ladder 59, Crystal Fire Company #1, Artisan Volunteer Fire Co. and Meredith Hose Company came together in a show of solidarity to visit the Lakeland Mayfield Elementary campus for their annual Fire prevention program. Thank you to Lakeland for allowing us to present this vital information to the students.

Early this afternoon Rescue 59 and Ambulance 59-9 responded to Jessup Borough as part of their SRN assignment with a crew of 9. Upon arrival the crews assumed the RIT duties while crews performed suppression efforts and salvage and overhaul. Great work by the first arriving units to keep the fire contained. The Rescue and ambulance operated for roughly 45 minutes.

We would like to give a shout out to Jermyn Supply who graciously donated sand to allow our members as well as members from several Lackawanna County Fire departments to complete their 32 hour Haz Mat Operations program.

Along with others in the area, the Officers and Members of the Wm. Walker Hose Co. are pleased to announce we have received word that we were awarded the Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
This grant will help us to outfit our dedicated members with head to toe NFPA compliant personal protective equipment including:
•Turnout Coat
•Turnout Pants
•Helmet
•Gloves
•Boots
•Particulate blocking Hood
•Personal Flashlight
We would like to thank Firefighter/EMT Dave Price for all the hard work throughout the grant process and we would also like to thank FEMA for the grant.
