🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act.

In Louisiana v. Callais, a 6-3 majority did what Justice Kagan called “eviscerating the law” — leaving Section 2 of the VRA, in her words, “all but a dead letter.”

Here’s what that means in plain English: state legislatures can now gerrymander our communities into silence — diluting Black and Brown voting power — as long as they slap a “partisan” label on it instead of saying the quiet part out loud.
President Obama said it best today: this Court is abandoning its role in protecting equal participation in our democracy. But setbacks can be overcome — if we mobilize and vote in record numbers. Not just in November. Not just in the marquee races. Every election. Every level.

Texas is already in the middle of a mid-decade redraw. Denton County is on the front line of this fight. The Court just handed the gerrymanderers a green light — so we hand them a turnout they can’t draw their way out of.
