Cockrill Middle School student India Griffith has been such an inspiration to the entire campus this year. India is a published author who lives with cerebral palsy. Her book, “India Can!: A Story about Big Dreams and Brave Hearts,” is her way of sharing her story with the world. India’s mission is not just to talk about disability, but to celebrate strength, kindness, learning, and limitless possibility. Through her words, she hopes to inspire confidence in children who feel different and encourage understanding.
India’s courage and creativity are exactly what we mean when we say, “We Are McKinney ISD!”

🎈🎈🎈8th Grade Celebration🎈🎈🎈
The 8th graders had an incredible time today celebrating with their friends! Both students and teachers truly enjoyed the day and made lasting memories together.
We are so proud of our amazing students and all they have accomplished over the past three years—it’s been exciting to watch their growth and success!
A special thank you to our PTO for generously covering a portion of the cost for every student, helping make this celebration more affordable for all 400 students. Your support made a big difference!

Today, we had the opportunity to celebrate our incredible 8th Grade AVID students!
We are so proud of each and every one of them and all they have accomplished during their time in the AVID program at Cockrill. Many of these students began their AVID journey with us in 6th grade, and it has been amazing to watch them grow into confident leaders!
As they prepare for their next chapter, we know they are going to do amazing things in high school and beyond. The future is bright for this special group of students, and we cannot wait to see all they accomplish! 🎉💙
