Our AP Art students and Art Club are hosting an End of Year Gallery Show this Wednesday May 13th from 6-8pm at the Recreation Center at Towne Lake at 2001 Central Expressway, McKinney Texas 75070.
This event will feature:
Artwork by Boyd’s finest AP Art Students
Live music by MBHS Jazz students in The Flock Jazz Band
Several art-making activities for any skill level
Snacks and refreshments
Camaraderie and fun times!
We would love to see you there!

Please join us for our Spring Orchestra Concert next Tuesday, May 12th at 6pm in the Boyd Auditorium. Doors will open at 5:45, and Nothing Bundt Cakes will also be for sale to raise money for our Booster Club! You are also invited to stay after the concert for our Senior Recognition Ceremony.

Join our McKinney Boyd Dive Team for the McKinney ISD Diving Showcase on May 12th from 6:00–7:00 PM at the Sam Serio Natatorium, located at 1400 Wilson Creek Parkway in McKinney.
This event is open to any students interested in diving. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch divers from all three McKinney ISD high schools, learn how to get started in the sport, and participate in a short Q&A session with current student-athletes.

We are proud to announce the appointment of Robert Quach as the next Associate Principal of McKinney Boyd High School, effective the upcoming school year!
Quach currently serves as a House Principal at McKinney High School, where he has spent the past four years, and brings more than 20 years of experience in public education. With 13 years of campus leadership at both the middle and high school levels in Frisco and Garland ISDs, he is widely recognized for his commitment to student success, staff development, and building strong, inclusive school communities.
Throughout his career, Quach has led campus initiatives supporting Special Education, English Learners, and Section 504 students. He has extensive experience coordinating local, state, and national assessments and has served as principal/lead for both middle and high school summer school programs.
Quach began his career in Garland ISD as a mathematics teacher at South Garland High School and later at the Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School. His excellence in the classroom earned him the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award, Garland ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year, and multiple Employee of the Year honors.
After seven years in the classroom, Quach transitioned into campus leadership, serving in administrative roles at Austin Academy for Excellence, North Garland High School, Naaman Forest High School, Sachse High School, and Frisco High School. He joined the McKinney High School leadership team in 2022.
Quach holds degrees from Southern Methodist University, the University of Kansas, and Texas A&M University-Commerce. He maintains Texas certifications in Superintendent, Principal, Mathematics, Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Gifted/Talented education.
In addition to his campus leadership, Quach serves on district committees and represents Region 10C as a Board Member for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. He was named the 2025 TASSP Region 10 Assistant Principal of the Year, a 2025 Texas TASSP High School Assistant Principal of the Year finalist, and the 2025 School Administrator of the Year by the Texas Association of Journalism Educators.
“I am incredibly honored to join the McKinney Boyd High School community and to work alongside Dr. David Hodum and the outstanding Boyd staff,” said Quach. “I look forward to building strong relationships, supporting the great work already happening on campus, and continuing to foster a culture where every student feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to reach their highest potential.”
“McKinney ISD has been an incredible place to grow as an educator and leader,” Quach added. “The district’s commitment to students, staff, and community is truly special, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving within such an outstanding organization.”
Quach is proud to be a part of McKinney ISD and remains deeply committed to honoring tradition while helping all students succeed.
