8:40 AM CDT 📡 update: We are monitoring the storms skirting along the KY/TN border. These thunderstorms will begin to move SE into portions of west TN in the next 15-30 minutes. Gusty winds, lightning, and heavy rainfall are all likely. ⛈️

We've got 2 rounds of storms today:
1) Through 3PM: mainly along the TN River and east of the MS River⛈️
2) 4PM-11PM: across the entire Mid-South (moving southeast from central MO)

After a humid start to the week drier air will filter into the region on Tuesday. Comfortable humidity levels will continue through Friday. Humidity levels will start to creep up this weekend.

⚠️ There is a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe thunderstorms today into this evening evening over much of the Mid-South. Damaging winds are the main threat with large hail as a secondary threat. Two rounds of storms are expected. The first round will occur this morning into early this afternoon. The second round will occur later this afternoon into this evening.
We're expecting two rounds of storms on Monday, one in the morning, the other in the late afternoon through mid-evening. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threats.
This "future radar" is from one of our more reliable forecast models. Keep in mind, as good as a model might be, it will never be completely correct. That's what makes meteorology challenging. 🙂
This just in, we have officially hit 90F at the Memphis airport for the 1st time this year. It feels like an oven out there.🥵
