This is what a Stronger, Safer Memphis looks like.
The Memphis Police Department joined Commissioner Caswell and community partners at The Lux at Raleigh Apartments to support families and residents following a tragic act of violence involving a juvenile.
Officers distributed free gun locks, gun safety materials, and victim resources while connecting residents with services and support. Together, we focused on prevention, healing, and strengthening our community.

Buying a gun for someone who cannot legally purchase one is not a favor…it is a federal crime!
Today, Chief Davis joined the ATF, along with other federal and local law enforcement partners, for the launch of the "Don't Lie for the Other Guy" campaign, a nationwide effort to prevent illegal straw purchases of fi****ms.
Straw purchasing puts guns into the hands of prohibited individuals and fuels violent crime in our communities.
Since October, the Memphis Police Department has recovered more than 3,000 fi****ms from Memphis neighborhoods. Preventing illegal gun purchases is a critical part of reducing gun violence and keeping our neighborhoods safe.
If someone asks you to buy a firearm on their behalf, say no. Report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
