Our old building needs some love. We're getting a new roof and are having some foundation work done to make sure the kitchen doesn't fall into the basement. All of this is a bit pricey, so we're in need of some extra donations. Every amount helps! Thanks!!

Open again today!

Manna House was open this past Monday, and we will be open today.

Manna House will be open tomorrow morning at 8:00am for coffee and a warm place to be. The front walk and steps are shoveled. The evening meal for Monday is cancelled.

Manna House is in need of travel size deodorant. Donations can be dropped off any day any time on the front porch at 410 Garland 38104.

Twenty years ago around this time we began offering showers at Manna House. We had opened in the late summer but had to get some renovations done to add a shower room. Those were completed at Christmastime. Drawing on some rough calculations we’ve likely offered around 42,000 showers with a change of clothes since that first day twenty years ago.

This year Manna House will mark twenty years of offering hospitality in the Catholic Worker tradition. We have been serving about 200 people each week (including repeat guests). So our threshold has been crossed about 208,000 times by those who have come.
