Shelby County SAR and Dive Unit on another water based search operation with MPD. You know we can't share details but wanted to show appreciation for these dedicated individuals. At least the water is starting to warm up some.

Search underway for man who went into the Wolf River but never resurfaced, MPD says Authorities are searching for a man who went into the Wolf River in Memphis on Sunday and never resurfaced.

Reflecting on Pearl Harbor this morning. It’s been 84 years since that surprise attack. There were a lot of heroic events and people that stepped up that day but most don’t think about those few divers that had those huge task ahead of them. This was the largest loss of life in Naval history!

The team has been assisting TBI with non-dive searches the last couple of days in the water.

World Drowning Prevention Day

World Drowning Prevention Day aims to raise awareness about the devastating and long-term impact of drowning on families and communities. The day also serves to promote effective drowning prevention strategies. According to research, an estimated 36,000 people lose their lives to drowning each year, many of them children aged 5 to 14. The risk is especially high in rural areas, where children often enter water without proper safety measures, making them more vulnerable to such tragedies.

Regardless of how good a swimmer you are, please wear proper fitting PFDs and utilize kill switch cords on small water craft. We want you to enjoy the great outdoors but we also want you to go home!
