🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to something greater than themselves secured the freedoms we enjoy each day. Memorial Day is not simply a day off — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

At Rural Metro Fire – FedEx Fire, we recognize that service comes in many forms, and today we stand in honor of those who gave everything for our country.

As we gather with family and friends, may we never forget those who are not able to be home with theirs.

We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.

🇺🇸 Land of the Free, Because of the Brave. 🇺🇸

💚 Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At Rural Metro Fire – FedEx Fire, we know the job can be tough—not just physically, but mentally too. Long hours, high stress, and the things we see can take a toll. That’s why mental health matters… for our crews, our families, and our community.

It’s okay to not be okay. What matters is that you don’t face it alone.

Check in on your brothers and sisters. Talk to someone. Take care of yourself the same way you take care of others.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is always available.
📞 Call or text 988 – Su***de & Crisis Lifeline

At Rural Metro Fire – FedEx Fire, we take our job seriously… but every now and then, we like to have a little fun too. 😄

Whether it’s responding on the ground or defending the galaxy (unofficially, of course), our crew is always ready.

Stay safe out there — and may the Fifth be with you. ⚡

🚨 Employee Spotlight – May 🚨

This month, we’re proud to recognize Fire Extinguisher Technician Chris Kosowski for his critical role in keeping the Memphis FedEx Hub safe.

Chris is the sole technician responsible for ensuring fire extinguishers are readily available across the World Hub—whether replacing used or missing units or repairing and troubleshooting faulty equipment. His work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is seen everywhere.

Because of Chris’s dedication and attention to detail, our crews can rely on properly functioning equipment when it matters most. His commitment helps ensure we remain ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

Thank you, Chris, for your hard work, professionalism, and for helping keep FedEx—and our team—safe every day.

✈️ Aircraft Familiarization Training 🚒

Today, crews from FedEx Fire / Rural Metro Fire teamed up with the Tennessee Air National Guard Fire Department for hands-on aircraft familiarization training.

Using both an Airbus A300 and a Boeing 777, personnel trained on critical areas including aircraft access points, cargo compartments, hazard recognition, and emergency response considerations unique to large cargo aircraft.

This type of training ensures our crews are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an aircraft emergency—protecting lives, property, and critical infrastructure.

Training alongside our partners strengthens coordination, communication, and overall readiness when it matters most.

💪 Train together. Respond together. Stay ready.
