We are so excited to share that the roof restoration at the Lowenstein House has begun!! The house, built in 1890, is a very rare example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style blended with the Italianate influences of the arched top windows and pyramidal tower roof.
Victorian Village Inc. is very grateful to the owner, Bill Townsend, who has become one of the leaders in architectural preservation in Memphis. He is also currently restoring another National Historic Landmark property in the same block of the neighborhood - The Pillow McIntyre House at 707 Adams Ave. circa 1842.

We have several strategic partners in Victorian Village that help us with our mission to make this community vibrant, diverse and properous. The Memphis Medical District and the Downtown Memphis Commission give us a great deal of support both financially and professionally. Please take this short survey from Survey Monkey to help MMDC in their annual community needs and vision. I took it today and it is about a five minute commitment.

Pictures below are from our community engagement meeting in Victorian Village Park to help envision a new, active use for the heart of our neighborhood. Thanks to DMC and MMDC and Community Lift for sponsoring the event. Ritchie Smith and Associates are the landscape architects involved in the planning.
