Charles Wood currently serves as Vice President of Economic Development for the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the Chattanooga Chamber, Charles held economic development positions in Pensacola, Florida, College Station, Texas and Mobile, Alabama. During his more than 20 year career in economic development Charles has led marketing, recruitment and expansion efforts resulting in thousands of jobs created by dozens of companies including Hewlett Packard, Mellon Financial, and Volkswagen. He also led the creation of two business incubators, a multi-state entrepreneurial network and the Greater Chattanooga Economic Partnership, a tri-state regional marketing organization.

Randall Gross is an economic, strategic planning, and development consultant with 34 years of consulting experience on over 650 projects worldwide. He has maintained offices in Johannesburg South Africa, Washington, DC, and London before returning to his hometown of Nashville in 2013. Randy likes to say that he works "from Peoria to Pretoria," and has also completed a variety of assignments for public and private clients in the Mid-South region. Mr. Gross conducts a broad range of economic analyses including real estate market & financial feasibility analysis, target industry & workforce assessment, economic & fiscal impact analysis, community facility needs assessment, and other analytical studies as input to his economic development strategic plans and other development strategies. Over many years, he has developed specializations in downtown and neighborhood revitalization, affordable & mixed-income housing, tourism development, arts & cultural economics, agriculture & rural development, preservation & adaptive use, R&D park feasibility, transit-oriented development, parks & recreation economics, and other areas of expertise. Mr. Gross prepared the previous CEDS for MAAG in 2016 and is here today to present initial findings from an assessment of baseline conditions for the current CEDS update.

Charlie Santo is an associate professor and Chair of the Department of City & Regional Planning, where he has been teaching since 2005. Charlie earned a BA in Politics from Washington and Lee University, a Master's of Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Ph.D. in Urban Studies from Portland State University. Charlie teaches courses that focus on urban economic analysis, public finance and planning, and planning research methods. He is the co-editor of Sport and Public Policy: Social, Economic, and Political Perspectives and the author of multiple articles on public investment and urban revitalization that have appeared in the Journal of Urban Affairs, the Journal of Planning Education and Research, and Community Development.

Mayor Tim Kelly is a proven leader with a heart for Chattanooga.
Born in April 1967, Tim is a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, and it will always be his home. Growing up in a family that emphasized servant leadership, Tim still embraces that approach today.
Before taking office, Tim served as chairman of the board for the Chattanooga Football Club, which he co-founded. He also founded, owned or operated a number of other businesses. As a civic leader, Tim has served on boards for the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chattanooga, the Benwood Foundation, River City Company, Allied Arts (now ArtsBuild), Chattanooga 2.0, and the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, among others.
