The art of becoming.

It’ll all start like you’re walking on eggshells. Too careful. Too hesitant in each step you take. But days will come, shame will wear out, and comfort will start to sit. It’s when you realize you’ve surpassed the fright you had of unfamiliarity.

You’ll win hearts and lose them in one mistake. You’ll feel empty for the vacancy that was left, the spot once adored so much now only holding imprints of their ghosts and memories. But time will blur the visions of the past, and, luckily, the same old spot will be occupied by someone or something new.

You will discover your passion. A desk full of papers and motivations. Excitements. Dreams. Plans. But growing old sometimes means growing tired of the things that once made you feel alive. The motivated poet ended up becoming a person unable to explain why she felt what she felt. Your knees tremble while standing on the stage and wonder, where did your youthful confidence go?

And so, the art of becoming means winning and losing, and winning again. It’s getting stuck but paddling again. It’s bland one moment, then glistening the next.

And the best thing is, there’s more about you to discover for the rest of your life. One, two, or more mistakes aren’t the end of who you are. You’ll experience growing pains and joy. The art of becoming is through overcoming what you thought you couldn’t.
