Sacred building being restored to nonprofit cultural arts center

No matter what part of the city you are from, this building has played a special role in our individual and collective histories. After decades of non-use, Clayborn Temple is now on track for restoration. We intend to honor every aspect of the special history of this building as we look to cement its place in the future of our city.

It’s been one year since our devastating arson and we want our beloved Memphis community to know that Clayborn Temple IS rebuilding!

Today, we don’t mourn- we move forward hand-in-hand with our community that has provided an overwhelming amount of love and support this past year. With that support pushing us forward, we have had a strong year and are moving forward to a brighter future.

Our co-op program is growing into a movement!🚀

COIN (Co-op Opportunity for Inclusive Neighborhoods) started in Memphis as a cooperative business accelerator, and now it's expanding across the Mid-South, connecting creatives, entrepreneurs, and community members in a tri-state movement rooted in shared ownership and collective growth.

This is what building the creative economy looks like in action. Read more here: https://ow.ly/hOTQ50YwmxZ

At the start of this year, we began piloting SheLectricity, a program designed to help middle school girls discover the entrepreneur already inside them. Through the program, girls get the chance to dream up ideas, talk about the problems they see in their surrounding communities, and start building real solutions together.

Right now, we're piloting the program with students at Freedom Prep Academy - Memphis, and the energy has been powerful!
