I remember when I was a functioning productive member of society before chronic kidney disease (CKD) took away my energy and tried to take away my life. By the Grace of God, I am still alive, fighting to remain alive; to overcome the devastation left of my health after the hurricane that is chronic kidney disease (CKD) came to me. As merciless as CKD is on the human body, I have in my
corner he who gives ultimate mercy. I’ve learned after 31 years of marriage and three children later that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HE WHO BELIVES. My son was hit by a drunk driver and 200 believers came and prayed for him at the hospital and in my opinion changed the direction of his condition. I’M ALIVE in spite of my doctors thinking that I might not be after suffering from diabetes for 23 years, having congestive heart failure /heart attack and respiratory failure; but I’ve told you, BY THE GRACE OF GOD…..! I’ve decided to come here and speak about my peril-less condition because these days I’m relegated to spending several hours a day; several days a week sitting on a dialysis machine accepting the only treatment available to keep me alive unless I receive a kidney transplant. This kind of existence is depressing and I don’t want to live this way anymore. I don’t want my wife to have to watch me live this way anymore. But my only option other than dialysis is to get a transplant and in order for me to do that, I must first meet a donor who is willing to give me the gift of life. It’s the only way. I have to ask you, WILL YOU PLEASE BECOME MY LIVING DONOR? PLEASE! Please don’t let fear paralyze you. The wonderful truth is that living kidney donation is increasing because we now know that humans are able to live their full lifespan with one healthy kidney. It’s the miracle information everybody’s been praying for and now science has determined it to be factual. I’m asking you to not be afraid to say YES. Don’t talk yourself out of doing what you very well may have been born on this earth to do. That is, SAVE ANOTHER PERSON’S LIFE. I am a coach for young adults. That’s not what I did for a living, but that is what I was born to do. Regrettably, I’m no longer able to coach them and that tears me up inside because not only was I good at it, but I sincerely believe I was born to do it.
