Our miracle girl Emma Grace celebrated her 11th birthday today! She has also celebrated her 7th year cancer free!! Praise God! đ She plays basketball âšī¸ââī¸ and flag football! She loves riding her bike and playing with friends!
She is still dealing with the leg that had cancer being shorter than the other leg. She has had some surgeries to stunt the growth plate in the ankle of her good leg. She will have another surgery in the next year or two to stunt the growth plate in the knee of the good leg. This is to hopefully give her shorter leg more growth and get her legs to a more even length.
Otherwise, she is doing great, and we are blessed she is doing so well!

Emma had her checkup with the surgeon today. She has to wear her boot for a couple more weeks. He did clear her to go back to school, which made her very happy! No recess or dance for another 4 weeks though. She said it was ok, because now she could walk! Very strong little girl!

Emma had a check up in Memphis today and yesterday. Her check-up went well overall. Her tibia bone is fused to her graft bone very solid. Her growth plate at her ankle the Dr. has been watching is possibly working, but not well. This means she isn't growing at the ankle bone like it should on her right leg. This is causing her leg length to be off by 2cm. If nothing is done, this will become a big problem down the road. We were referred to an outside surgeon who gave us options. We chose the least invasive which involves deactivating the growth plate in her good ankle. She will also need her fibula growth plate deactivated on her right leg. This will stop the growth plates at both ankles. On a side note you dont get much height at your ankles. Basically an estimate Emma will be an 1.5 in. shorter than God intended. This procedure will require an outpatient surgery in Memphis. We don't have a date set yet, but talking about Sept. or Oct. for this surgery.
