I am disappointed that the City of Menomonie and the Mayor have chosen not to formally acknowledge or publicly notify residents of my resignation. My former constituents deserve transparency and a voice in what comes next, not to have representation reassigned behind closed doors. It is especially concerning that the process appears to be moving toward quickly installing a candidate whom Ward 9 voters explicitly rejected in the last election. The residents of this ward made their choice clear, and bypassing public input undermines both that decision and the integrity of the democratic process. For that reason, I am sharing my formal resignation here so residents can read it for themselves and remain fully informed. Serving the people of Ward 9 has been a true honor, and I will miss Menomonie greatly. As I step away, I strongly urge the Mayor and Council not to rush the process of filling this seat and to allow for meaningful public engagement before any appointment is made.
