A big thanks to everyone who stopped by and "asked us about the plan" (Communities in Motion), who COMPASS is, and how to make some good moves around our region on our roadways and pathways. We loved seeing all of your smiling faces and we hope you had fun spinning our wheel of trivia!

A big thanks to for hosting us and for always putting together such a spectacular event. Happy Public Works Week!! đź’™

It's FAQ Friday! Today we're asking, "why does COMPASS exist?"

COMPASS exists to serve as a regional forum for transportation planning and budgeting federal transportation funds. While a forum such as COMPASS makes practical sense, it is also a federal requirement for regions over 50,000 to receive federal transportation funding.

We’re excited to be joining our friends at the City of Meridian for Meridian Public Works Day! 🎉

Stop by the COMPASS booth (inside the main hall), spin our Trivia Wheel for a chance to win some fun swag, and learn about transportation safety along the way. 🚲🚦

Wondering how our area will keep up with the growth and changes we expect to see in the next 30 years? Be sure to look for our team members wearing the "Ask Me About the Plan!" shirts and chat with us about Communities in Motion, our long-range transportation plan 👍

We can't wait to see you there!

đźš´ Stay in designated bike lanes whenever possible
đź‘‹ Use proper hand signals when turning or changing lanes

Where's your favorite place to ride? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️

COMPASS' Employee of the Month is John Hardesty!

John has revolutionized our Data Bike and Pedestrian Counter program and continues to bring this program to life every day. His hard work organizing, refreshing, and streamlining the process has been incredibly successful. You can find him out in the field installing and repairing counters, planning for the Data Bike to hit the pathways this summer, and in the office sorting through data to ensure we have the most up-to-date information. You’re awesome, John! Congrats!

Wearing a helmet is a really good move!đźš´

It's officially the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer on our roadways. We're working together as a community to make it the 100 SAFEST Days of Summer.

05/27/2026

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, traffic crashes and fatalities increase nationwide - especially for teen drivers. This is known as the "100 Deadliest Days." More time on the road, more distractions, and higher speeds can quickly turn dangerous.

But this trend isn’t inevitable. It’s preventable.

Let’s all do our part:
đźš— Drive the speed limit
📵 Stay off your phone
🍺 Never drive impaired
🔒 Buckle up—every trip, every time

Every choice you make behind the wheel matters. Let’s look out for each other and reverse this trend - it's a Good Move.

Let’s get there safely.

COMPASS' March Employee of the Month was Toni Tisdale!

It was a busy month for Toni! She put in an incredible amount of work developing the upcoming FY2027–2033 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), which we update annually, while also balancing the current FY2026–2032 TIP. She adapted to a changing funding landscape and dedicated a lot of time, effort, and skill to getting everything in order, all while also representing COMPASS on the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations’ technical committee. Even while spread thin, she makes it look easy and remains dedicated to ensuring the quality and accuracy of everything she works on.

Great job, Toni! Well deserved! 👏
