Bodily autonomy is everything ✨

I choose not to take on many births. I’m very careful about who and where I put my energy into. When I was a newer doula, of course I wanted the experience. I wanted to help every single mama that I could. I quickly realized that some experiences were not the experiences I was looking for.

Some of you know that I know longer take hospital births, only for special circumstances. Having bodily autonomy is so important to me that seeing mamas fight for something that should be rightfully given was really hard on me. I took it to heart. At the end of the day, your doula can only push back so much. I decided that while doulas in the hospital are SO necessary, I no longer wanted to be the one pushing back. It was exhausting.

God put it on my heart to stop putting myself in those situations and He has brought and connected me with the most incredible, strong mamas 🤍
