A safe place to play.
A chance to heal.

Many children and youth enter foster care after experiencing abuse, neglect, and instability.
The impact stays with them. Around 80% face mental health challenges, and 1 in 4 will experience post-traumatic stress.

But with the right support, their story can change.

At His House Children’s Home, children find a safe place to land, caring adults who show up for them, and everyday moments that help them feel like kids again.

With consistency, support, and spaces to play and connect, they begin to rebuild trust, confidence, and a sense of joy.
You can be part of that change.

This Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Their bravery and dedication will forever inspire us to live with compassion, unity, and gratitude.

Today we remember. Today, we honor.

Healing is where their future begins.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, one thing remains clear:

Children in foster care need ongoing support, understanding, and care.

At His House, healing is a journey we walk every day, helping children rebuild trust, find stability, and move forward with hope.

Because mental health is not a moment. It’s a commitment. And together, we can be part of that commitment.

There is a moment every child in foster care remembers.

The moment they arrive somewhere new, not knowing if they will be safe, not knowing if they will be wanted.

And then, someone opens the door.

This month, we honor the people who choose to say yes in that moment. The ones who turn uncertainty into safety, and fear into belonging.

Because of them, a child can finally exhale.
This Foster Parent Appreciation Month, we celebrate their love.
And we gently ask, could this be your yes, too?

Trauma doesn’t end when the moment passes. For many children in foster care, its effects are carried silently every single day. During National Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of healing, stability, and compassionate care for children who have experienced trauma.

At His House Children’s Home, children in foster care receive the support, love, and specialized care they need to begin healing and rediscover hope.

You can be part of their journey toward restoration. Visit hhch.org to learn how you can get involved.

But they will remember how they were treated, who made them feel safe, who showed them patience, and who made room for them when they needed it most.

That kind of impact lasts longer than anything else.

This Foster Parent Appreciation Month, we’re honoring the people who leave that kind of mark on a child’s life, and reminding our community that there is still time to step forward for a child who needs a safe and loving home.

Tomorrow is our next virtual information session, and another session will take place on May 28. If you have ever thought about becoming a foster parent, this is the perfect time to learn more and take the first step.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to what often goes unseen.

For many children in foster care, what they carry inside is hard to explain, and even harder to heal alone.

Trauma, anxiety, and fear don’t always show… but they are there.
What makes the difference is having someone who listens, who understands, who shows up.

At His House, we work every day to create that space where children feel safe enough to begin healing.

Because awareness is only the beginning.
What truly matters… is what we choose to do next.
