Lauren Alperstein is a distinguished attorney, community leader, wife and mother of two. A recipient of several awards and honors recognizing her altruism and service to the community, Lauren is precisely who Broward County needs as a judge. Passionate about fair, equal, respectful, and compassionate justice, Lauren's dedication to the law and her love of public service permeate all aspects of her
life. As a successful family attorney, she has helped her clients navigate contentious divorces and difficult child custody cases with empathy and a regard for what is equitable under the law and in the best interests of the children. As a court-appointed guardian ad litem, she regularly advocates for the needs of children, including in heartbreaking matters involving child abuse, and does so for little or no compensation to her. Each year, Lauren provides no charge (pro bono) representation to countless people who cannot afford an attorney but who need legal aid. In 2021, Legal Aid Service of Broward County and Coast to Coast Legal Services awarded Lauren the Attorney of the Year award in recognition of Lauren's invaluable support of Legal Aid programs in Broward County and for helping provide access to legal assistance for some of the most disadvantaged members of the community. Through her involvement with the Broward County Bar Association and the Florida Bar, Lauren advocates for fair and equitable family law rules, statutes, and application of the laws. Lauren is an accomplished attorney who works for one of our nation’s most prestigious law firms. She has won numerous awards for her legal and community work from organizations including:

Her family instilled in her the values of faith, fairness, compassion and giving back. That is why Lauren has dedicated her legal career to promoting justice and to her pro bono work of giving a voice in the courtroom to those who would not otherwise have a voice, including victims of domestic violence, veterans, children, and minorities.
