Saturday, May 23rd - Celebrated Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month through Asian Culture Series with Miami-Dade Public Library System - Pinecrest Branch Library. Today, we represented South Korea. Program included teaching and demonstration of Korean martial arts - Taekwondo, led by Master Sangwon Jeong and his students from World Class Martial Arts Miami; Kpop Dance performance and teaching by the famous FIU Lynx; and Korean language, culture and heritage presentations by students of FIU Korean Language Empowerment Club and FIU Korean Tradition and Modern Club led by Professor Sung Min Cho, Korean Language Professor at Florida International University.

Friday, May 22nd - Celebrated Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month through Asian Culture Series with Miami-Dade Public Library System - West Kendall Regional Library. Today, we represented Japan. Program included teaching of Ikebana - the Art of Japanese Flower Arrangement - presented by Akiko Iwata, President of Ikebana International Miami Chapter; Taiko Drumming presented by Fushu Daiko; and Japanese Swords demonstrated by Miami Budokan. Grateful to the partnership, support and friendship of Athy Fitos, Library Operations Manager, Community Engagement; Gina Menge, Community Engagement Coordinator; and Director Lydia Lopez, Miami-Dade Public Library System.

Saturday, May 16th- Celebrated Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month through Asian Culture Series with Miami-Dade Public Library System - Westchester Regional Library. Today, we represented the Republic of China (Taiwan). Program included Chinese Yo-Yo presentation and performance; Puppet Show activity; Taiwanese Third Prince Mascot activity; and Boba Tea presentation. Partnered with Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister Cities International with Kaohsiung City, Taiwan - Tina Wang Cordon, Chairwoman. Grateful to the partnership, support and friendship of Athy Fitos, Library Operations Manager, Community Engagement; Gina Menge, Community Engagement Coordinator; and Director Lydia Lopez, Miami-Dade Public Library System. Presented Certificate of Appreciation to Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Miami for their support and friendship.
