BREAKING: Congratulations President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris!

Florida voters whose ballots are rejected for an error are allowed to fix those errors through Thursday, Nov. 5—two days after Election Day.

As of Oct. 22, 15,003 of 3,210,873 Florida mail ballots cast faced rejection. More ballots could still be rejected. Ballots cast by Black, Hispanic, and young voters are more likely to be flagged for rejection.

1.2% of Black voters and 0.86% of Hispanic voters have had their ballots flagged in Miami-Dade County, versus only 0.48% of white voters, according to an analysis published by The Miami Herald. Black, Hispanic, and young voters are all major voting blocs that largely support Vice Pres. Joe Biden.

Additionally, Florida Democrats are 0.07% more likely than Republicans to have their ballots flagged for potential rejection. Democrats across the state and country have voted by mail more in larger numbers than Republicans.

Voters who have been notified of rejection can find out more about fixing their ballots on their county elections office website.
