I'm being asked via the message feature how people can 1) look up their deed or 2) find information on a house they see but don't know who owns it. Here is the answer: 1) To look up your deed, or the deed of someone else--say your parents--you will use the DEEDS SEARCH feature on the county website for where the property is located. If you have aging parents, you can register for property fraud alerts or check their records to make sure there are no outstanding liens. These are public records. YOU CANNOT CHANGE OR ALTER any document that has been recorded. If you want to download or print them, you need a credit card and an email address. It will cost $2.00 per page and we will have a track record of who downloaded or printed. I am responsible for the DEEDS SEARCH records. 2) If you are driving in Kent County and you see a house you want to find out more about--such as who owns it, then you will use the Board of Assessment database listed as PROPERTY RECORDS. I am not responsible for this database. Here is the link in Kent County, Delaware: https://www.kentcountyde.gov/Residents/Deeds-and-Property-Records I am happy to answer your questions on FB messenger but it is best to reach me at [email protected]
