If heaven is where God is, why do we spend so little time longing for Him? We say we want heaven, but do we really want God, or do we simply want to escape hell?
Many hearts have become satisfied with everything except the One they were created for.
We eagerly binge another series, scroll endlessly through social media, chase entertainment, and fill every quiet moment with noise. Yet when it's time to open our Bible, kneel in prayer, or simply sit in silence before the Lord, our minds wander and our hearts become restless.
What does that reveal? It reveals what our souls truly treasure.
The greatest treasure of heaven is not streets of gold, gates of pearl, or freedom from pain. The greatest glory of heaven is that God Himself will be there. Every joy of eternity flows from His presence. Every song of the redeemed centers on Him. Every crown is laid at His feet because He alone is worthy.
If we find His presence burdensome today, why do we imagine eternity with Him would suddenly become our greatest delight?
God does not merely desire your religious activity. He desires your affection..
He longs for the kind of relationship where you don't rush through prayer but linger because you love Him. Where worship isn't a duty but a response. Where reading His Word feels like hearing the voice of the One your soul has been searching for.
The tragedy of our generation is not simply that we are busy, it is that we are entertained into spiritual numbness. We have learned to crave constant stimulation while forgetting how to enjoy quiet communion with Christ.
Yet Jesus still whispers: "Come to Me."
Not for a performance, not for another obligation but for fellowship.
Sit with Him, tell Him your fears, share your tears, listen for His voice and rejoice in His promises.
Let your heart become so filled by Christ that the thought of eternity with Him no longer feels distant, it becomes your deepest longing.
Because heaven is not beautiful merely because of where it is.
Heaven is beautiful because Jesus is there.
..And the soul that has learned to delight in Him today will never grow tired of worshiping Him forever ❤️🔥
