This photo on the porch of the Judge Nat Hart Davis cottage captures four of Judge Nathaniel and Sarah White Davis' grandchildren. L-R Nat Hart Davis, Bettie Wood Peel, Sam Davis and John Bowe Addison. Photo believed to be taken during the mid 1950's.

The photo was taken by TJ Peel during one of the early Montgomery Texas Treks. Both Nat and Sam graduated from The University of Texas Law School. Both graduated as Chancellor of their classes. Bettie was a graduate of a female boarding school in Birmingham, Alabama (as was her sister Valda Wood). John Bowe Addison may have been a graduate of the Montgomery Academy. His brother, Hart, was one of the early graduates of Montgomery High School. John Bowe lived out his life in the Addison-Gandy home in Montgomery.

The Davis Cottage is open Wednesday - Saturday from 11 am - 3 pm. Admission is FREE and a docent is on duty.

We are excited to release a first look at the upcoming Viewpoint feature hosted by Dennis Quaid, and we are so excited for the rest of the country to get a glimpse of what makes Montgomery such a special place.
