Starting late tonight and all day tomorrow, the Borough's Public Works Department will be dealing with the season's first plowable snowfall. The Borough Staff request that if you have an area other than along the streets to park your car, to use them. Also, make sure that trash totes are pulled back from the street and curb area.
This allows the plow trucks to get closer to the curb area to roll the snow and make for a safer parking area for residents after the storm ends.
The storm is predicted to start early in the morning on Monday and continue all day before ending Tuesday morning. Accumulations have ranged between 3-6/ 5-8 inches. Due to the track of this storm coming from the West, and mostly to our South, it is hard to know where the heaviest accumulations will fall.
The Borough Staff will do our best to keep our streets plowed and materials applied to the roadway for your safe passage. We would also like to remind residents that it is illegal to throw snow out onto a roadway.
For your safety and parking needs, Borough Council will continue to spend the time and resources to remove snow from all the intersections and when needed, haul away the snow that would prohibit enough side street parking for our residents. In exchange we ask that you take the time to remove your vehicles on the days marked as " No Parking". Public Works will use those days to do a final clean-up of those streets.
If you have any issues or concerns, you may contact me on my cell phone, Borough Manager/Chief of Police at 717 226-1066.

Public Works Department has completed the leaf pickup for the season. The Borough has received some calls from our residents that still have leaves that need picked up. We understand that this year's fall/winter season has been windy and restricted the days that you could gather and bag your leaves.
For the next two weeks, the Public Works Department will still pick up bagged leaves. Residents must contact the Borough Office and request a special pickup of bagged leaves. You will need to let office staff know when pickup will be ready, number of bags and what address. After December 20th, you will need to use your trash service for leaf removal.
