NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors of Dickinson Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, will hold a public hearing to consider for adoption an Ordinance entitled and summarized hereinafter, at its regularly scheduled meeting to be held on April 1, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the Dickinson Township Municipal Building. The title of the proposed Ordinance is:

AN ORDINANCE OF DICKINSON TOWNSHIP, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 205 – “ZONING” OF THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF DICKINSON TO DELETE A DEFINITION AND TO ADD ADDITIONAL DEFINITIONS TO SECTION 205-12 AND ADD A NEW SECTION 205-115, ENTITLED “OUTDOOR WOOD-FIRED BOILERS” TO CREATE REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF OUTDOOR WOOD-FIRED BOILERS.

Following the public hearing, the Board of Supervisors may vote to enact said proposed ordinance.

A summary of the proposed Ordinance is as follows:

Amending certain provisions of Chapter 205 – “Zoning” to delete a definition, add additional definitions and adding conditions for the accessory residential use of outdoor wood-fired boilers in all zoning districts except the Appalachian Trail Overlay Zone. All other aspects of the Code of the Township of Dickinson are to remain the same, provisions of the Ordinance are severable, and certain ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Ordinance are repealed.

The full text of the proposed Ordinance may be examined at the Dickinson Township Municipal Building, 219 Mountain View Road, Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania 17065, during regular business hours. A copy of the proposed Ordinance has been filed with the newspaper publishing this notice and at the Dickinson Township Municipal Building.

UPDATED TRASH PICKUP NOTICE: Trash pickup for Monday, January 26th has been CANCELED. Trash pickup is permitted to be doubled on Monday next week for make up. Wednesday, January 28th Pickup has moved to Thursday and Friday, January 30th pickup has moved to Saturday.

❄️ Winter Storm Safety Notice ❄️

A winter storm is expected to impact the area this weekend, and Dickinson Township’s Public Works Department will be actively working to treat and clear Township roads. Crews will continue operations as conditions allow to keep roadways as safe and passable as possible.

Residents are asked to please:
Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm
Use caution if travel is necessary
Give plow trucks plenty of space to do their work
Be patient, as road conditions may change quickly and our crews are working hard to keep the roads open

Your cooperation will help keep our crew and fellow residents safe. Thank you to our Public Works team for their dedication and to the community for your understanding.

Cold Springs Road Bridge Replacement Meeting – January 29, 2026 at 6:00 PM.

A meeting will be held on January 29, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Dickinson Township office building for any resident of the Township who would like to know more information about the replacement of the one lane bridge on Cold Springs Road. This project will occur in the fall of 2026 and will require Cold Springs Road to be closed for approximately 3 weeks. A presentation will be given by the Township Engineer and Township staff and then there will be time for residents to asks questions. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
